Particulars
Role & responsibilities
1. Process Design & Innovation: Design technical processes to enable innovation, value enhancement, and process improvement projects. Ensure that these designs include consumer-relevant quality control points and process parameters, enabling world-class product quality.
2. Implementation Support: Collaborate closely with internal Plant Engineering, Maintenance teams, and external engineering partners to ensure process designs are effectively implemented.
3. Collaboration with R&D: Partner with the R&D Product Development team to define processing routes and operating conditions for new formulations, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing.
3. Technology Transfer: Document and communicate processing routes and parameters through Technology Transfer documents, ensuring alignment with Brand Quality and Supply Chain objectives.
4. Adoption of New Technologies: Identify and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, exploring their potential applications to enhance manufacturing efficiency and capability.
5. Trial Management: Oversee main plant trials, transit trials, and long-run trials to standardize both current and new formulation processes. Analyze trial outcomes and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
6. Documentation Accuracy: Prepare, review, and approve process engineering documents such as P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), and equipment specifications created by vendors and contract engineers.
7. Custodian of Process Standards: Maintain and update manufacturing batch sheets and Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all factories to ensure consistency across sites.
8. Best Practices & Process Safety: Implement best practices in project execution, process validation, process specifications, and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with process safety standards.
9. Technical Support to Factories: Collaborate with factory teams to provide process expertise and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues.
10. Capital Expenditure Planning: Work with factory units to determine and finalize capital expenditure (CapEx) requirements to meet production and quality targets.
Preferred candidate profile
·  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
·  Experience:
1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Process Development or Manufacturing roles, specifically in the HPC (Home and Personal Care) category.
2. Must have experience with Home Care product formats (Powder, Liquid, and Bar).
3. Hands-on experience with pilot-scale scale-ups, technology transfers, and main plant trials is essential.
4. Strong preference for candidates with prior manufacturing and process engineering experience.
5. Willingness to travel frequently to factories across India.
